Maddie came to us from a dangerous situation for cats. She needed socialization before she could go to an adoption program at a local humane society.
Despite every technique we tried, Maddie was a stubborn gal and refused to socialize. We could not return her to original home so she stayed with us at the sanctuary.
Maddie was a gorgeous tortoiseshell with a quiet disposition. She kept to herself mostly, and did not like sharing anything with anyone - she definitely had "Tortitude". She enjoyed sunbathing by a window or at the top of a condo. We always respected her space, but every now and then in the latter years, she would accept some pets in exchange for chicken treats.
When Maddie started losing weight we took her to our veterinarian. She was diagnosed with gastrointestinal cancer, and the veterinarian advised it was time to let her go. It was a tough decision, but we did what was best for her. We will greatly miss her and will always love you our beautiful Tortie Girl...
