Honey
Honey came to us through a trap-neuter-return effort in south Austin. She bonded quickly with several of the sanctuary cats but Honey was painfully shy and did not trust humans. After a few years we slowly earned her trust and she finally allowed us to pet her--but it was always on her terms.
During the summer of 2017, it was discovered that Honey had a cancerous tumor in one nostril and another next to her throat. We made her comfortable and showered her with extra love and her favorite food, roasted chicken.
Honey fought the cancer as long as she could but we had to make the painful decision to let her go when it became difficult for her to breathe. Honey passed peacefully in loving arms. Rest in peace precious girl.
