Ginger

Who says a feral cat can’t be gorgeous? Ginger arrived as an unsocialized older teenager from a hoarding situation in Austin. Her health wasn’t good and she soon developed stomatitis, a painful inflammation of the mouth and gums. Since we could not safely administer medications, the only option was to have all her teeth removed. She has since gained weight and is in much better health these days. Ginger is a beautiful girl but her long hair mats up quickly in the spring making her uncomfortable. So she gets a lion cut every May and she’s just as adorable. Despite our attempts at socializing her, she remains very skittish. Over the years, we’ve managed to sneak in the occasional receptive pet or scratch but in general, Ginger prefers we admire her from afar and we certainly do.
